Bounceless
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000718
Describing a switch, relay, or switching circuit whose output changes cleanly, without the repeated make-and-break of contact bounce, so no debouncing is needed. Mercury-wetted relays have this property, as does a mechanical switch followed by a latch circuit. Contact bounce in an ordinary switch typically lasts a few milliseconds, long enough for a fast logic input to read it as several separate presses.
