To impart a textured, slip-resistant surface on freshly placed concrete by pulling a specialized broom across the slab before it has fully hardened. This action creates a pattern of fine, parallel ridges that improve footing and water drainage. The resulting broom finish is a standard requirement for many exterior flatwork applications, including sidewalks, ramps, and parking areas.
