Buzzin' dozen

A slang name for the large Detroit Diesel two-stroke V12 engines, such as the 12V71, 12V92 and 12V149, taken from the buzzing sound of the two-stroke cycle and the twelve cylinders. They were fitted to heavy trucks, buses, boats and generator sets. The 12V71 displaces about 14 litres, or 852 cubic inches.
