Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006263
A type of two-stroke engine design featuring two pistons moving in parallel cylinders but sharing a single combustion chamber and cylinder head. One piston controls the intake port while the other controls the exhaust port, allowing for better scavenging and more complete combustion than a conventional single-piston two-stroke engine. This design was famously used by the Austrian manufacturer Puch for its motorcycles from the 1920s until the early 1970s.
