Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000939
A beveled or triangular-profile strip of wood, fiberboard, or perlite placed at the intersection of a flat roof deck and a vertical surface like a parapet wall. Its purpose is to provide a smooth, angled transition for roofing membranes, preventing sharp 90-degree bends that could crack or damage the material. Cant strips typically have a 45-degree angle and are a required component in most built-up and single-ply roofing systems.
