Low-slope roof

A roof system with a pitch that is nearly flat, typically having a slope of less than 3:12 (three inches of vertical rise for every twelve inches of horizontal run). These roofs require specialized waterproofing membranes and drainage systems to prevent water ponding and leaks. Common materials include built-up roofing, modified bitumen, and single-ply membranes.
