Ponding

The accumulation of water on a flat or low-slope roof surface that remains for more than 48 hours after rainfall under ambient drying conditions. This condition can accelerate the degradation of roofing materials and lead to leaks. Building codes often specify minimum roof slopes to prevent ponding.
