Cost per available seat mile, a key financial metric used in the airline industry to measure the operating efficiency of an airline. It represents the cost incurred to fly one seat one mile, calculated by dividing total operating expenses by the total available seat miles. A lower CASM indicates greater cost efficiency for an airline.
