Cash crop

An agricultural crop grown for sale to generate revenue, rather than for consumption by the grower or their livestock. These crops are cultivated with the intention of being sold in a market, either domestically or internationally. Examples include wheat, corn, soybeans, cotton, and tobacco, which are traded as commodities.
