Living mulch

A cover crop established between rows of a primary cash crop, remaining alive throughout the growing season. This practice suppresses weeds, reduces soil erosion, and improves soil moisture retention without competing excessively with the main crop. Common living mulches include clover or vetch planted in orchards or vineyards.
