Plasticulture

The agricultural practice of using plastic materials to modify growing environments and improve crop yields. Applications include using plastic mulch films to suppress weeds and conserve soil moisture, or constructing greenhouses and high tunnels from plastic sheeting to extend the growing season. This method also encompasses the use of plastic for irrigation drip tubing and silage bags.
