Mile

A unit of length used in the imperial and United States customary systems of measurement for distance in transport and logistics. The statute mile, used for land transport, is defined as 5,280 feet, 1,760 yards, or approximately 1,609.344 meters. In maritime and air navigation, the nautical mile is used, which corresponds to one minute of latitude and is internationally defined as exactly 1,852 meters.
