Caustic curve

The envelope of light rays that have been focused after reflection or refraction from a curved object or surface. This phenomenon creates a bright curve or surface of concentrated light, visible as a pattern of bright lines. A familiar example is the bright, cusp-shaped pattern of light seen at the bottom of a coffee cup when light shines into it from the side.
