Chop and drop

A permaculture technique where plant material, such as branches, leaves, or weeds, is cut down and left on the soil surface to decompose. This practice adds organic matter to the soil, suppresses weeds, and conserves moisture. It mimics natural forest processes, enriching the soil over time.
