Chokedamp

A hazardous atmosphere found in mines, primarily consisting of carbon dioxide and nitrogen, with insufficient oxygen to sustain life. It forms after explosions or fires consume oxygen, or from the natural oxidation of coal and other organic materials. Exposure to chokedamp causes asphyxiation, with concentrations above 10% carbon dioxide being immediately dangerous.
