Synthesis gas

A mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide, sometimes with carbon dioxide and methane, produced from the gasification of coal, natural gas, or biomass. This gas serves as a feedstock for the production of synthetic natural gas, ammonia, methanol, and other chemicals. The ratio of hydrogen to carbon monoxide in synthesis gas can be adjusted depending on the desired end product.
