Compressed natural gas, which is natural gas stored at high pressure, typically between 2,900 and 3,600 pounds per square inch (psi). It is used as a fuel for vehicles, offering a cleaner-burning alternative to gasoline or diesel. CNG is primarily composed of methane and is stored in rigid, high-pressure cylinders.
