Scuffle

To cultivate the surface of the soil with a scuffle hoe, a tool designed to cut weeds just below the ground level without disturbing the deeper soil layers. This action severs weed roots from their shoots, causing them to wither and die. It is a method of weed control that minimizes soil erosion and moisture loss.
