Coach screw

A heavy-duty, large-diameter screw with a square or hexagonal head, designed for fastening timber to timber or timber to masonry with a strong, secure connection. Also known as a lag screw, it features a coarse thread and a pointed tip for driving into wood. Coach screws are commonly used in structural applications, such as securing ledger boards or heavy framing.
