Condenser
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001299
An optical component, typically a lens or system of lenses, designed to gather light from a source and focus it onto a specific area, such as a specimen on a microscope stage or a slide in a projector. It does not form an image of the object itself but rather illuminates it uniformly. Condensers are characterized by their numerical aperture, which indicates their light-gathering ability.
