Conditioning time
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001300
The period required for a textile material to reach moisture equilibrium with the surrounding atmosphere. After manufacturing processes like dyeing or finishing, fabrics and yarns are exposed to a controlled environment to stabilize their moisture content, which affects their weight, dimensions, and physical properties. Standard conditioning requires holding the material for at least 24 hours in an atmosphere of 65 percent relative humidity and 21 degrees Celsius.
