Country beam

The high-beam setting of a vehicle's headlamps, designed to illuminate the road over a long distance when no other vehicles are present. This setting provides maximum forward and peripheral illumination for driving in unlit rural or open areas. Regulations such as the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 in the United States specify the photometric requirements for high beams.
