Courtesy light
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001397
An interior vehicle lamp that illuminates the passenger cabin automatically when a door is opened or unlocked. These lights provide visibility for entering or exiting the vehicle in low-light conditions and are also found in glove compartments, trunks, and under the dashboard. The circuit is controlled by plunger-style switches in the door jambs or by the vehicle's body control module, which adds a timed delay before turning the lights off.
