Brake light

A red lamp located at the rear of a vehicle that illuminates when the driver applies the brakes, signaling deceleration to following vehicles. Modern vehicles are equipped with at least two primary brake lights and often a third, higher-mounted center brake light. These lights are mandated by safety regulations worldwide.
