Piped

Describing a rail vehicle that has a through brake pipe but no working brake of its own operated from the pipe. The pipe carries the brake signal along the train to the vehicles behind, but the piped vehicle itself adds no braking force when the driver applies the train brake. It differs from a fitted vehicle, which has the full brake equipment.
