Straight-piped

Describing an exhaust system on an internal combustion engine that has had its mufflers, catalytic converters, or resonators removed or replaced with straight sections of pipe. This modification reduces back pressure and increases exhaust gas flow. Such systems are illegal for road use in many jurisdictions due to increased noise and emissions.
