Disc brake
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001746
A braking system that uses calipers to squeeze brake pads against a rotating disc, or rotor, to create friction and slow down a vehicle. This design dissipates heat more effectively than drum brakes, leading to better stopping performance and resistance to fade. Most modern vehicles use disc brakes on all four wheels.
