Brake shoe

A component of a drum brake system that carries the friction material, known as the brake lining, and presses it against the inner surface of a rotating brake drum to create friction and slow down a vehicle. Brake shoes are typically curved to match the drum's inner diameter and pivot on an anchor point. They are actuated by hydraulic pressure or mechanical linkage.
