Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005701

A machine that automatically or semi-automatically applies, tensions, and seals a strap of plastic or metal around a product, box, or bundle for reinforcement and handling. The process involves feeding the strap around the item, pulling it tight to a preset tension, and then joining the ends using a heat seal, friction weld, or metal clip.
