Terminal

A connection point for joining electrical circuits or terminating a conductor, allowing for the easy connection and disconnection of wires for testing or service. Terminals are found on components like power supplies, programmable logic controllers, and motors, taking forms such as screws, posts, or spring-loaded clamps. Terminal blocks, which group multiple terminals together, are often rated according to standards like IEC 60947 for voltage, current, and wire size.
