Cumai

A composite metal billet made by diffusion bonding layers of different non-ferrous metals, such as copper, brass, and silver. The laminated block is then forged, twisted, or carved to expose the layers, creating a decorative pattern similar to wood grain. This technique, related to mokume-gane, is used by artisans and jewelers to produce colorful, patterned material for decorative objects and inlays.
