Dead man's handle

A safety device on trains, trams, or other machinery that requires continuous pressure from the operator to remain active. If the operator releases the handle, due to incapacitation or inattention, the system automatically applies the brakes or shuts down the machine. This prevents runaway vehicles or uncontrolled operation.
