Deadleg

A section of piping or tubing that has no flow or very infrequent flow, often extending from a main line. These stagnant sections can accumulate sediment or promote bacterial growth, posing contamination risks in sensitive systems. Deadlegs are minimized in pharmaceutical and food processing plants to maintain hygiene.
