Dingleberry

A small, solidified droplet of molten metal that adheres to the surface of a workpiece near a weld. These metal balls are a form of spatter created during arc welding processes when molten filler or base metal is ejected from the weld pool. Dingleberries are considered a surface defect and must be removed by grinding, chipping, or wire brushing before finishing or coating the part.
