Stripling

A tall, fast-grown tree seedling, prepared for planting by removing its lower branches and leaves to reduce water loss and encourage height growth. This type of planting stock is used in forestry for establishing new plantations, particularly in areas with heavy weed competition. Striplings are typically between one and two meters tall when planted.
