Stripper

A tool or chemical agent used to remove a layer of material from a surface. In electrical work, a wire stripper removes insulation from electrical wires without damaging the conductor. In painting or finishing, a chemical stripper dissolves old paint or varnish from wood or metal surfaces, preparing them for a new coating.
