Dry well

An underground structure designed to collect and slowly disperse stormwater runoff into the surrounding soil, preventing surface ponding and reducing the burden on municipal drainage systems. It typically consists of a gravel-filled pit or a perforated barrel wrapped in geotextile fabric. Dry wells are an effective method for managing localized drainage issues on properties.
