Exogangue

Gangue located outside the grains of the valuable mineral, as with the impurities that lie between phosphatic grains instead of being locked inside them. Such free gangue can be separated from whole grains more readily than endogangue, which sits inside the grains. The term is used in processing phosphate ore.
