Ferroelectric shutter
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002235
A type of optical shutter that controls light transmission by applying an electric field to a ferroelectric material. The electric field alters the material's optical properties, such as its birefringence, allowing it to block or pass light. These shutters offer fast switching speeds, often in the microsecond range, making them suitable for high-speed imaging applications.
