Field seam
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002252
A joint or connection made on-site during the installation of materials, rather than in a factory or workshop. This type of seam is common in roofing membranes, ductwork, and large panel systems where prefabrication of entire sections is impractical. Field seams require careful execution to maintain the integrity and performance of the installed system, often involving welding, adhesive bonding, or mechanical fastening.
