Fog signal

A device placed on a railway track to provide an audible warning to train drivers during periods of reduced visibility, such as fog or heavy rain. These signals typically consist of small explosive charges that detonate when a train wheel passes over them, producing a loud report. They serve as a supplementary warning to fixed signals, indicating caution or a stop ahead.
