Geodimeter
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002552
An early type of electronic distance measurement (EDM) instrument that determines distances by measuring the phase shift of modulated light waves. It transmits a light beam to a reflector, which then returns the beam to the instrument. This device significantly improved the speed and accuracy of long-distance measurements compared to traditional chaining methods.
