To remove material from a workpiece using an abrasive wheel or belt rotating at high speed. This machining process is used for finishing surfaces to a fine tolerance, sharpening cutting tools, or cutting hard materials. Grinding wheels are made from bonded abrasive particles like aluminum oxide or silicon carbide, with different grit sizes and bond strengths selected for specific materials and finish requirements.
