Jitter
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003131
A deviation in the timing of a periodic signal from its ideal periodicity, often caused by variations in network latency or clock synchronization issues. This timing instability can manifest as fluctuations in signal arrival times, leading to distortion or dropped packets in digital communication. Jitter is measured in units of time, such as milliseconds or microseconds.
