Skew
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005315
The phenomenon in synchronous digital circuits where the same clock signal arrives at different components at different times. This timing difference is caused by variations in wire lengths, temperature, or circuit load across the printed circuit board. Clock skew must be kept below a certain tolerance, specified in nanoseconds in a component's datasheet, to prevent data transfer errors.
