Single data rate
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005296
A characteristic of synchronous memory where data is transferred only once per clock cycle, on the rising edge of the clock signal. This method contrasts with double data rate (DDR) memory, which transfers data on both the rising and falling edges of the clock signal. For a given clock frequency, single data rate synchronous dynamic random-access memory (SDR SDRAM) has half the theoretical bandwidth of first-generation DDR SDRAM.
