Octal data rate

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003965

A signaling method in which eight bits of data are transferred per clock cycle, also known as ODR. This technique significantly increases the data throughput of a communication link without increasing the clock frequency. Octal data rate is an evolution of earlier methods like single data rate (SDR), double data rate (DDR), and quad data rate (QDR), which transfer one, two, and four bits per cycle, respectively.
