Skew bevel gear

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-007246

A type of bevel gear where the axes of the intersecting shafts are not in the same plane, creating a non-perpendicular intersection. This geometry allows for a smoother, quieter operation compared to straight bevel gears, as the teeth engage gradually. Skew bevel gears are employed in applications requiring power transmission between shafts that are offset and intersect at an angle.
