Timing chain

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006037

A metal chain that connects the engine's crankshaft to the camshaft or camshafts, synchronizing their rotation. This synchronization coordinates the movement of the pistons with the opening and closing of the intake and exhaust valves. Unlike a timing belt, a timing chain is located inside the engine and is lubricated by engine oil, giving it a much longer service life.
