Sequential valve timing

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005162

A variable valve timing technology in which hydraulic pressure rotates the camshaft relative to its drive sprocket, advancing or retarding the intake valve events while the engine runs. The engine control unit commands the shift from speed and load, and because the cam profile is unchanged, opening and closing points move together. Mazda markets its version as S-VT.
